Busy time for Anfi’s Entertainment Team
16/11/2010 - Anfi’s entertainment team has had a jammed packed schedule recently with not only their annual Halloween happenings but also with organising a street dance competition
The first ever ‘Anfi Urban Dance Battle’ kicked off at Anfi del Mar in Gran Canaria this October. The event, aimed at young local dancers, took place at the resorts’s central Plaza and was watched by hundreds of Anfi Members & guests.
Opening the show, FUSIONATIX B, a local dance troupe made up of five to twelve year olds, put on a slammin’ display of street dance and provided a glimpse of the next generation of street dancers.
The atmosphere was charged as local dance crews battled it out popping & locking to pumping dance tunes. The intense final was between ARJ CREW and WAXIFLAVOR. After an emotional dance-off, the ecstatic winners were teenagers Ares Almeida, Rubén GarcÃa and Jordan from the ARJ CREW.
A delighted Tania Waxiflei, who busted her moves against 8 other participants, won the individual section. Runners up, Gina Aleman and Octavio provided tough competition for the local girl.
The competition was a great success offering a fun evening of entertainment and a fantastic opportunity for young dancers to show off their skills and enjoy the excitement of competitive dance.
Anfi Plaza was again the place to be, this time for the Halloween Parade and Party. The main square was a veritable melting pot, (or perhaps a molten cauldron) of witches, warlocks, ghosts, ghouls, vampires and zombies.
There were even a few demonic revellers who’s fancy dress couldn’t be wholly defined. However, this didn’t stop them or anyone else from having wonderfully wicked time.
