The Anfi Group raises €3,300 for Japan
20/04/2011 - Last Saturday 16th April, the Anfi Group held a Golf Tournament Fundraiser. The hotel group, a European leader in the vacation membership industry, organized a humanitarian event to raise money for the victims of the earthquake and the tsunami in Japan. The event exceeded all expectations, bringing together more than 120 players who helped raise € 3,300.
Attending the event, which was organised by the Group’s Marketing Department and Anfi Tauro Golf, were several members from the Japanese community in the Canaries. Accepting the cheque on behalf of their countrymen, one of the representatives, Mr. Yoshi - the longest established Japanese businessman in the Canaries - stressed his "deep admiration for a gesture of solidarity for a country that will rise again and has always overcome the toughest challenges.”
Also other companies also took part in the event such as: the Caja Rural de Canarias, Paradise Hotels & Resorts, Binter Canarias, Emicela, Riviera Beach & Spa, Definición Grupo Imagen, La Cascada restaurant and Grupo Aspro (Palmitos Park and Aqualand).
The tournament organizers stressed the important part that the Japanese community has always played in the Canary Islands and emphasised that the amount raised would do "a little bit to help the nearly half a million people displaced by the tsunami that hit Japan's coast”.
In addition, the Anfi Group in its commitment to solidarity is gearing up to organize another tournament, this time for Unicef, which will take place on May 21st.
