Gran Canaria – the ideal holiday destination

Gran Canaria is a sun-drenched Spanish island in the Atlantic Ocean, 197 kilometres off the coast of West Africa. Taking only an average journey time of approximately 4 hours from most European cities, it enjoys a climate of eternal springtime with average yearly temperatures of 240 – making it the ideal all year round holiday destination.

The Anfi Resorts are located on the beautiful south west coast of the island –cocooned between mountains and the ocean, the Resorts have become a “home from home” for more than 33,000 families.

Blessed Climate

You can fly out to the Anfi holiday paradise in Gran Canaria safe in the knowledge that you’re heading for one of the kindest and most reliable climates in the world.

350 days of healthy sunshine and brilliant blue skies all year...

Daytime temperatures (accompanied by a gentle breeze) that hover between a comfortable 22°C and 28°C

Enjoy total freedom to dress down or dress up for those long, sunny days and blissful warm evenings – just as the mood takes you.

A perfect climate for perfect holidays

Surprising Nature

Variety is the spice of life, and the ‘round island’ of Gran Canaria, just 47kms in length, has been blessed with more than its fair share.

Visitors and residents marvel at the contrasts...

From cool pine tree forests to warm turquoise waters. From hidden coves and steamy banana plantations to leafy wilderness and subtropical ravines.

Arrive. Unpack. Make straight for the pool or beach and unwind for an hour… for a day or two… for the whole holiday...

On the other hand, your idea of relaxation might be a walk into the parched foothills of the 1,949m peak Pozo de las Nieves – followed by a delicious picnic and a self drive tour of Fataga, a lush valley of 1,000 palm trees.

Stroll the Saharan sunny sand dunes of nearby Maspalomas, hitch a lift on a camel – or hike the soaring cliffs of the south west coast.

Just as each and every visitor is different, Gran Canaria’s rich landscape offers a wealth of surprises.

Around the Island

Las Palmas capital

The island’s north coast capital is the largest town in the Canaries and one of Spain’s most important ports. Explore the beautiful fifteenth century Spanish colonial architecture of its many churches, interesting museums, private houses and welcoming cafés and restaurants. Or just take in the atmosphere of lively Santa Catalina Park, where plays, shows, ‘fiestas’ and musical events regularly take place.

Away from the city

Sample delicious local wines , tangy goat’s cheese and other delicacies as you explore the extraordinary prehistoric caves. Or make your way to the typical Canarian village of Teror – where you can try out the Sunday market – or San Mateo, well worth a visit for its remarkable landscape.

Close to Anfi’s resorts on the south west coast, the fishing port of Arguineguín offers colourful boats, the freshest of fish and plenty of original Gran Canaria charm.

The narrow, flower-filled alleys and quaint canals of Puerto de Mogán are also a real treat. For a more contemporary resort atmosphere, try the bright lights and bargain shops of lively Puerto Rico.

Leisure Choices

Local flavours

Gran Canaria serves up a delicious and varied selection of mainland Spanish, Canarian and international cuisine. Typical dishes include fish, Canarian potato stew or tasty tapas such as 'papas arrugadas con mojo' (potatoes with spicy pepper sauce).

Shopping variety

Take home your memories with a delightful souvenir from the island, or purchase the latest electronic goods at bargain prices for which Gran Canaria is so well-known.

Fun for all the family

Families naturally feel welcome in Gran Canaria. Splash out with a trip to one of the water parks or take a trip to Palmitos Park - a lush and exotic world of birds, butterflies, orchids and more.

Quality time for couples

Take your pick from vibrant night-life in Playa del Inglés or Puerto Rico, or take things easy in a romantic restaurant. There are so many special sunset spots to choose from.

Something for everyone

Gran Canaria offers the perfect holiday experience that is sure to remain close to your heart for many years to come.
